Double piano hinge has passed the UL 10C fire test and can maintain structural integrity for 180 minutes without falling in a flame at 900 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the leakage rate is less than 3 cubic meters per square meter per hour. Its surface has been anodized, with an oxide layer thickness of 25 microns. It is resistant to acetone wiping for more than 100 times and is suitable for laboratory fume hoods and chemical plants.
The hinge has excellent impact resistance and is tested in accordance with the ASTM E208 standard for drop weight testing. It can withstand an impact energy of 50 joules without breaking. After installation, the electromagnetic shielding effect provided by the hinge itself reaches 40 decibels, effectively suppressing radio frequency interference, and is especially suitable for communication cabinets and medical imaging equipment. In addition, the hinge can pass the 24-hour copper acetate salt spray accelerated corrosion test, corresponding to a service life of more than 15 years in the actual marine environment.

The double piano hinge adopts a double-row staggered hinge structure, which greatly improves the overall bearing capacity. A double piano hinge with a length of 1 meter has a static load capacity of up to 750 kg under uniform load. This is because the double-row design spreads the load across the two rows of hinge blades, avoiding the stress concentration of a single-row hinge. In scenarios such as heavy equipment access doors, stage floors, or vehicle tool boxes, this feature ensures that the hinges will not deform or sink under long-term high loads, significantly better than ordinary single-row piano hinges.

The rolling contact surface of each hinge leaf in the double piano hinge is increased, and combined with the self-lubricating bearing material, the wear is greatly delayed. In a cycle test of 10 times per minute and an opening and closing angle of 180°, the high-quality double piano hinge can withstand more than 200,000 openings and closings without significant increase in gap. In contrast, ordinary hinges tend to loosen after 50,000 times. Ordinary segmented hinges are prone to stress concentration near the installation point when subjected to unbalanced loads, while the continuous blades and double-row pin structure of the double piano hinge can transmit the force evenly along the entire length. Compared with single-row hinges of equal length, the double-piano design can reduce the maximum local stress peak by approximately 37%. This means that when the door panel is long or a heavy object is applied to the far end, the deformation of both ends and the middle part of the hinge will be consistent, avoiding the phenomenon of "one end is loose and the other is tight". Since the double piano hinge has two hinge lines arranged in parallel, its ability to resist lateral moments is much stronger than that of a single row hinge. According to the torque test results, under the lateral torque of 100 N·m, the angular displacement of the double piano hinge is only 28% of that of the single-row hinge. This rigidity makes it particularly suitable for door panels that are wide and need to withstand accidental impact or side thrust, such as the rear door of a logistics carriage or the outer cover of an outdoor electrical cabinet, ensuring that the door leaf remains in precise alignment even under strong winds or human pushing.
