Surface Mount Continuous Hinge is usually made of 304 stainless steel, its blade thickness is 0.120 inches or 3.0 mm, and the blade width is usually 3 inches or 76.2 mm. The standard total length of the hinge is 83 inches, approximately 2108 mm, and can be installed at the same height as the door leaf to achieve full-length continuous support. This shape design allows the load to be evenly distributed across the entire door edge, eliminating the need to mill grooves on the door frame. Surface mounting not only keeps the door seam uniform but also can withstand the stress concentration caused by high-frequency opening and closing, providing a reliable basic structure for heavy doors.
The hinge's screw holes are 4 inches (101.6 mm) center-to-center and are equally spaced along the blade to ensure a secure installation. The diameter of the pin is 5/16 inches, about 7.94 mm, and a full-length stainless steel round rod is used to penetrate all the blades. This diameter combined with the continuous length resists lateral shear forces and avoids local bending. The surface is usually brushed with a roughness Ra≤0.4 micron, which is both fingerprint-resistant and easy to clean. The appearance is simple and has no grooves, which meets the requirements of clean environment. During installation, only a level ruler and a punching template are needed for quick positioning.

Hundreds of students pushed through during class, and the door hinges endured severe lateral impacts. The stainless steel blades are as thick as 0.120 inches (3.0 mm), far more resistant to bending than ordinary hinges. Third-party tests showed that this thickness can withstand a lateral pull of 2000 N without falling off, avoiding door flaps smashing students, and meeting the mandatory durability requirements of school safety regulations for hardware.
