The flatness of the blade length direction of the stainless steel offset piano hinge shall not exceed 0.3 mm per meter, referring to the H-level tolerance requirements in GB/T 1184. The flush tolerance between both ends of the pin and the outer surface of the blade is ±0.15 mm, which is tested in accordance with ISO 4759 standards. These two appearance features ensure that the door panel will be flat without warping after the long hinge is installed, and the pin will not protrude and scratch the sealing strip.
The mounting hole position tolerance of this hinge is Φ0.2 mm, which complies with ISO 2768 medium precision level. The verticality of the blade side relative to the bottom surface is 0.1 mm per 100 mm length, refer to GB/T 1184 verticality tolerance. These fine geometric controls enable accurate hole positioning when splicing multi-section hinges, and there is no sense of steps between the blades.

Advantages
180° Interference‑Free Opening
The offset geometry ensures the blades can be completely flattened to 180°. The blade edges do not scratch during the full travel. A protractor test shows the actual maximum opening angle can reach 182°. This is due to elastic deformation of the material. Compared with ordinary plain hinges (usually ≤150°), the 180° opening allows the door panel to rest against the side wall. It saves corridor space. This is especially suitable for access doors in narrow hallways.
Precise Offset Design
The centerline offset between the wide blade and the narrow blade is strictly controlled at 25.4 mm (1 inch). The tolerance is ±0.1 mm. This precise offset allows the hinge to achieve 180° flattening when the door frame and door panel have a step or an obstacle. It avoids interference. Compared with general-grade products (25±0.5 mm), installation alignment is smoother.
Varied Mounting Hole Options
In addition to straight cylinder through holes, the premium grade hinge can be pre‑fabricated with M4 threaded holes or Φ5 mm countersunk holes. The pull‑out force of a threaded hole has been tested to reach 1800 N. This is using an M4×8 mm stainless steel machine screw. In comparison, a self‑tapping screw provides about 1000 N. The threaded connection is 80% stronger. For access doors that require frequent disassembly and maintenance, threaded connections are more reliable. They also do not damage thin door frames.
Excellent Salt Spray Resistance
After passivation treatment, the bare 304 stainless steel hinge shows no red rust after 500 hours of salt spray testing according to ASTM B117. This result comes from an SGS test report. In comparison, a non‑passivated general‑grade 201 product shows rust spots at 120 hours. This feature allows the hinge to be used directly in corrosive environments such as coastal base stations and ship hatches. No additional coating is required.
