80x40x1800 ITA/FEM Forks

The 80x40x1800 ITA/FEM fork weighs 52 kilograms per piece and has a total length of 1.8 meters. It is a special extra-long specification in the 80×40 mm cross-section. Such a large slenderness ratio forces the manufacturing process to shift to multi-pass straightening and laser tracking verification. Each fork is reverse-bent section by section on the press to control the straightness of the entire length to within one thousandth. The 52 kilograms of metal in each rod are not evenly distributed, but the extra material is concentrated behind the upper hook and at the root of the lower hook, forming a double hump thickened area to resist the risk of shear fracture of the long cantilever beam.

 

This model cannot enter a standard heat treatment furnace, so it uses local induction quenching and air cooling to make the surface hardness of the fork tips and hooks reach 42HRC, while the core remains tough. The surface is covered with a peelable temporary anti-rust film, which can be removed after the user installs it to avoid transportation scratches. Micro oil grooves are processed on the hook tooth surface to facilitate the application of molybdenum disulfide grease, which greatly reduces the resistance when the long fork is hooked. Each pair of forks must be tested for lateral deflection in pairs before leaving the factory. The horizontal deflection value of the left and right forks when fully loaded shall not be greater than 3 mm to prevent long goods from being pushed aside. The position of the stamp is changed to the vertical plane of the fork legs, making it easier to read when wearing a safety helmet and looking down. This specification is mainly used in heavy-duty pipe extrusion plants, precast concrete component yards and large aviation container loading and unloading platforms. The unit weight of 52 kg must be replaced with a simple gantry crane or balancer, and it is strictly prohibited to operate it with bare hands by a single person.
