Galvanized Iron Washer

Galvanized Iron Washer uses mild steel as the base material and the surface is hot-dip galvanized, providing a cost-effective anti-rust solution in ordinary industrial environments. According to the ASTM A153 standard on the thickness of the galvanized layer, the thickness of the zinc layer applied to steel parts is not less than 45 microns. Taking the M16 specification gasket as an example, its outer diameter is about 40 mm and the thickness is 3.2 mm. The galvanized layer is formed by immersing in the molten zinc liquid at about 440 degrees Celsius to form an iron-zinc alloy layer, which has strong bonding force and is not easy to peel off. According to the ASTM B117 neutral salt spray test, this standard galvanized layer can withstand 300 hours in a five percent sodium chloride spray environment without red rust. This provides a reliable protection period for outdoor structures such as building curtain walls, photovoltaic brackets and transmission towers. At the same time, the inner diameter of the gasket and the gap between the bolts are controlled within 0.5 mm, ensuring accurate positioning and not affecting the transmission of pre-tightening force.

In terms of mechanical properties, the hardness and load-bearing capacity of galvanized iron washers depend on the carbon content of the base material and the state of heat treatment. According to the ISO 898-2 standard for gasket hardness, the Rockwell hardness of this type of gasket after quenching and tempering must reach HRC 35 to 45, which is about 30% higher than the untreated state. This makes the surface indentation depth of the gasket less than 0.03 mm when withstanding a surface pressure of 150 MPa, effectively dispersing the contact stress under the bolt head and protecting the flange surface from damage. At the same time, the passivation treatment on the surface of the galvanized layer increases the resistance to fingerprints and white rust in accordance with the ASTM B201 standard. The friction coefficient of the supporting surface during assembly is about 0.15. When matched with galvanized bolts, the dispersion of the tightening torque is controlled within plus or minus 10%. It is suitable for petrochemical pipeline supports and the foundation fixation of heavy machinery and equipment, taking into account the reliability of anti-corrosion and pressure resistance.
