Slow Close Piano Hinge

Slow close piano hinge uses a built-in hydraulic damping system to effectively control the speed of the door leaf at the end of closing to avoid noise and damage caused by violent impacts. Actual time measurement data shows that the time required for the hinge to fully close from the 90-degree open position is stable at 8.5 seconds, while the ordinary spring hinge only takes 1.7 seconds, and the closing time is extended four times, providing users with sufficient safety buffer. At the same time, the buffering trigger angle is set to start when it is 30 degrees from closing. It has been verified by the laser goniometer that the door leaf can rotate freely before this angle. After entering the 30-degree range, the damping force increases linearly, reducing the end impact speed from 0.8 meters per second to 0.05 meters per second, a decrease of more than 90%, which significantly protects the door frame and hinge itself.

 

 

For reliability in long-term use, this slow-closing hinge has also undergone rigorous durability verification. In an accelerated life test simulating fifty opening and closing times per day, after 60,000 consecutive operations, the time required for complete closing only changed from the initial 8.5 seconds to 8.1 seconds, with a change rate of less than 5%, which is far lower than the 15% attenuation limit generally allowed by the industry. In the temperature adaptability test, the hinge was placed in an alternating environment ranging from minus 15 degrees Celsius to 45 degrees Celsius for 200 cycles.

 

 

The measured ratio of the maximum value to the minimum value of the buffering moment was 1.09:1, indicating that the viscosity of its damping oil changes very little with temperature, and it can be used in stairwells and outdoor passages with large temperature differences throughout the year. In addition, according to after-sales visits at one hundred installation points, the average number of repairs caused by impacts on door leaves using this hinge within a year is 0.3 times, while the corresponding average number of repairs for traditional hinges is 2.7 times, which fully reflects the actual value of the slow-closing design in reducing maintenance costs.
