Steel Reducing Washers

Steel reducing washers solve the problem of mismatch between bolt specifications and installation hole diameters. Mechanical tests show that the compressive yield strength of reducing washers made of No. 45 steel can reach 580 MPa, and it can still maintain a thickness deformation of less than 0.15% when withstanding a preload force of 40,000 kN per square centimeter. Another set of typical size sampling data for M12 to M10 shows that the concentricity deviation of this type of gasket is controlled within plus or minus 0.03 mm, thus avoiding an increase in bolt bending stress of about 33% due to eccentric loading, effectively protecting the fatigue life of the connecting pair.

Using finished reducer washers instead of stacking two ordinary washers reduces the time required for a single installation from twelve seconds to five seconds, while eliminating the risk of relative slippage between the two washers. At the same time, in a sinusoidal vibration environment with a frequency of 40 Hz and an amplitude of 2.5 mm, the residual preload force of the connection pair using a single reducing washer remained at 91% of the initial value after 24 hours of testing, while the control group using the double-gasket solution only had 74% left. This makes these washers an indispensable standardized part in heavy machinery assembly lines and field repair tool boxes.
