After being made of fifth-series aluminum alloy, the gasket's thermal expansion change per 50 mm diameter during the temperature cycle from minus 40 degrees Celsius to 120 degrees Celsius is only 0.018 millimeters, which is much lower than the 0.13 millimeters of plastic washers, ensuring constant clamping force in a wide temperature range. The surface is anodized so that after 300 hours of testing in a neutral salt spray environment with a pH value of six to eight, the corrosion weight loss is only 0.02 grams per square decimeter, and there is no obvious galvanic corrosion risk with the copper conductor, and the potential difference is controlled within 50 millivolts. Actual tracking data for large bolt connections in wind power towers shows that the pass rate of regular torque inspections using such washers is as high as 98.5%, which is significantly higher than the 89.3% of galvanized steel washers. This is mainly due to the ability of aluminum washers to compensate for trace plastic deformation under the action of preload.
